Mind Behind Soul Geek
As a comic collector of more than 40 years, with a passion for the art and history, who has matured in the midst of the hardships of Watts, CA, I pledge to utilize my enthusiasm for comics as a source of hope and inspiration for our community’s youth. In spite of gang violence and drug adversities, I have discovered solace and empowerment in the comic books’ pages. Now, I want to return the favor by teaching and bringing awareness to the works of black and ethnic comic book creators. I feel that comics not only open the imaginative minds of our children but also are an incredibly powerful tool for reading and vocabulary building.
My vision is to shine a light on the empowering force of comics, creating readers and learners and inspiring the future generation to transcend their situation and be all they can be through Soul Geek non profit organization. I believe comics can play a vital role in Soul Geek empowerment programs, fostering growth and education.

At Soul Geek Empowerment, we spark imagination and build strength by cultivating a new generation of artists, writers, and comic enthusiasts. Comics unite and restore, empowering people to convert passions into purpose. Through Soul Geek educational initiatives, we provide workshops, mentorship, and joint projects that blend artistic expression with individual development. We harness comics to motivate people toward overcoming challenges. With tools, training, and access, we build a community where creativity fuels change, offering comfort, compassion, and a stage for impactful storytelling. Additionally, Soul Geek charity events provide opportunities to engage the broader community, while initiatives like video games donation for kids help bring joy and learning to youth through interactive experiences.
